The year is 2014. The peak of Swag Era and loud tongue in cheek puns is upon us. Sales for the Toyota Corolla were floundering.
Millennials were just not interested in a regular car. We needed to do something. Something loud, fast, and something that had a chance to stand out.
While on the train in NY, I definitely hear the original version of this phrase and it dawned on me with a little tweak, I might have something here…
When marketing to millennials, you have five seconds to make an impact before they skip your ad. With that in mind, Go Fun Yourself was created that boldly says everything (well, almost everything)
about the redesigned Corolla in the first five seconds.
“Say whaaaaa? F bombs away!”

The campaign did so well in the US it was brought over into the EU Market to advertise their version of the Corolla, the Toyota Aygo.
